Site description:	Rain forest, crossing some streams, regeneration areas, irregular terrain with the trail muddy year-round.	Trail through forest and observation of secondary volcanic activity.
Regulations:	Stay on the trail. Do not litter. Personal belongings have to be protected against animals in the camping area.	You need to carry your own water since the water in rivers can have chemicals from the volcano, do not use any soaps or champu.

Other trails:

Trapiche: This short trail leads to the sugar cane processing area of the old farm.

Mirador: This trail starts to one side of the Casona and leads uphill to a lookout towards the pacific region of this area. The trail is about 500 meters long. There is also a good view of Miravalles volcano.

How to get here

You can get to the Santa Maria Sector by car through Barrio La Victoria of Liberia or from Bagaces. You can travel by bus to Colonia Blanca.
