I. Identification:
Tree from 12-15 m tall.
Flower:
The inflorescence is a terminal panicle of lilac colored flowers with a sweet smell. The sepals reflect a greenish-yellow color.
Fruit:
Fruits from 7-10 cm long (Janzen & Leisner 1980).
Leaves:
Simple alternate, oblanceolate and entire margins. Approximately 5-8 cm long. The upper surface is dark green and the under surface is grey.

The bark is dark brown and rough.
