I. Identification:

Hemiepiphyte, 4-6 m tall.

Flower:

The flowers are white and on the ends of the branches.

Fruit:

Dehiscent between 5-9 valves. Approximately 3-5 cm long, green. They open almost completely, leaving yellow seeds exposed.

 

 

 

Leaves:

Simple opposite, ovate in form. Approximately 10-15 cm long.

   

Bark and wood:

Greyish.

Whole plant architecture:

Similar species:

Clusia minor, can be distinguished from Clusia uvitana by the less obvate form of its leaves (±oblong). The flower is pinker and the fruit does not open as much as that of Clusia uvitana. The seeds are red while those of uvitana are yellow.
